FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A hotly anticipated venture is wrapping up, once up and running it will encourage prepare fire teams to better serve you.The South Lynches Fire Department now has a 6,000-square-foot space to facilitate instruction and preparing. The new building is situated on the division’s present preparing grounds in Lake City, on Keels Boulevard.The vision for the preparation office begun in 2002 and now the last expansion is up. At this moment, teams are moving hardware in. WMBF News’ Ken Baker discovered how this new fire preparing building will profit firefighters and you.“By being able to provide this training here, local, where they don’t have to go out of town, it makes it a lot easier for them to get their training. And they can help their community as a volunteer,” said James Epps, skipper and faculty facilitator for South Lynches Fire Department.The office used to instruct new individuals and consistent training out of a little versatile classroom – however now all that preparation will soon occur in the fresh out of the box new building. This new expansion is being paid for by the second Penny Sales Tax. This new office considers more than 100 team individuals to be instructed at one time.The office beforehand needed to hold various classes to get everybody instructed. Staff said this new building will enable take to flame courses to the following level.”This gives us the capability to have multiple classes at the same time, as well as can hold our entire membership. We also will have a computer lab because some training is going to be online-based in the future and we wanted to make sure we could handle those changes when they come about,” Epps said.The top of the line to be educated here will be a gathering of junior firefighters inside the following couple of months.
